Young Adult Class
Room 201 Educational Wing
Our Young Adult class is a fun group of folks who gather weekly in the church library for study and fellowship. Sometimes traditional Bible study, sometimes topical discussion, our conversations are always fruitful and faithful. We value thoughtful, respectful conversation and compassionate Christian community. While we’re called “Young Adults”, adults of any age are welcome!
Hobson Class
2nd Floor Harper Center Upstairs
We are a class of young-minded, middle-aged men and women. We welcome anyone! Our curriculum study varies. We do various projects, such as making trail mix packets for athletes at area high schools, making Chrismons for our Sanctuary tree and putting up/decorating trees in the Colonnade and Sanctuary.
Carson Class
Room 212 Education Wing near Elevator
The Carson class meets in the classroom located directly behind the Sanctuary in the education building. Our average attendance is 12-14 with a make up of singes and couples aged 55+, however, we welcome anyone of any age. We use the Uniform Lesson Series which is published quarterly. The adult lesson book is called The Present Word and we use rotating teachers. We welcome anyone who desires engaging in the study of God’s Word.
Inquirer’s Class
Room 209 Education Wing
This is a unique class in that the class selects their own Biblical material based on current social issues. They say they are often called the “Mavericks.” Any age adult is invited to visit and join the class.
Dietrick Class
Harper Center Chapel Upstairs
The Dietrick Class was started around 1950 as a young adult class. The class includes men and women and is open to all adults. All of the members are retirees but any adults are welcome. We take care of each other and will take care of new members as well. We also take care of people in our community, regularly donating to various outreach organizations. We use the standard Sunday School Lesson Series, with a different church member teaching each month; some of the teachers are members of the class. The format is usually lecture, which includes background information as well as meaning and application of Scripture.
Carrington McNeill Vanguard room
Harper Center Parlor Upstairs
This is a small class but it has been around a long time. The Carrington McNeil class (women) and the Vanguard class (men) combined several years ago, as each class grew smaller. Now the class includes men and women and includes a wider range of ages. They study the standard Sunday school lessons, with discussion, and try to apply the lessons to current events.
